Maria montessori

Through careful observation and deep understanding of the way children learn, Maria Montessori forever changed the world of children. Philosophies about child education today are greatly influenced and show the evidence of her research and wisdom. Project-based learning, furniture and learning materials made for each child’s developmental needs, guided learning leading children to self-discovery all show her loving hand.

“The child's development follows a path of successive stages of independence, and our knowledge of this must guide us in our behavior towards him. We have to help the child to act, will, and think for himself. This is the art of serving the spirit, an art which can be practiced to perfection only when working among children.”
                                              Maria Montessori

Love and logic

A loving, balanced approach:
We provide a loving, balanced approach that is neither permissive nor punitive.
  • We discipline children by gently guiding them to think about their choices of behavior and helping them see the logic of fair and honest choices.
  • We focus on helping children develop personal responsibility, self-control and good decision making skills.
  • Unlike some approaches we don’t use complicated reward or punishment systems only focused on short-term compliance.
  • Instead, we focus on nurturing long-term relationships and reinforcing good character.

Glenn Doman founded the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential. He and his team studied children and each stage of their development. In order to have a complete picture, they traveled to over 100 different countries around the world and closely observed thousands of babies and young children while carefully recording their stages of development. They discovered that strengthening one area of the brain strengthens all areas of the brain. They also observed happiness is essential to teach young children successfully.

"You can teach your tiny child absolutely anything that you can present to him in an honest, factual, and joyous way." Glenn Doman
